INFORMATION QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When can I expect the delivery of the chicken coop?

Depending on production capacity, delivery can be expected 1-6 months after submitting the pre-order.

How will the chicken coop be delivered to me?

First, it’s important to note that the Hentower is not just a chicken coop but also a fun project for two people (father and child, grandparent and grandchild, or any duo). The Hentower is designed as a simple kit that two people can assemble and activate together. The kit is shipped via parcel service in cardboard boxes containing all components, including fasteners. You’ll only need your own tools for assembly. Delivery is FREE for the first 100 pre-orders.

What are the dimensions or weight of the chicken coop?

The chicken coop is very compact, allowing for easy handling.

  • Weight: approximately 30 kg (excluding feed and water)
  • Total width: about 100 cm (including roof overhang)
  • Total length: 130 cm
  • Height: 160 cm
What materials is the chicken coop made from?

The materials used are eco-friendly and environmentally conscious. The walls are made from a combination of fully recyclable plastic panels. All panels are thermally bonded without the use of adhesives or binders. They are lightweight, waterproof, and offer excellent thermal insulation properties.

For what size flock can the chicken coop be used?

Despite its compact design, the chicken coop can accommodate up to 10 hens.

How will I operate and control the coop?

The coop is equipped with an intelligent control unit that ensures automated functions such as opening and closing the doors, monitoring the feed and water levels, extending daylight hours with controlled lighting, ventilation (temperature and humidity control), and even heating the water during winter.

To configure these functions, the coop features a user interface with an OLED display and a rotary encoder, allowing for simple and intuitive control.

While many functions are automated, your involvement is still important for regularly refilling water and feed, cleaning the coop, and collecting eggs. However, this system saves you a lot of time and provides optimal living conditions for the hens.

All coop activities can also be monitored via our breeder portal, where the control unit sends all important data at regular intervals. For this functionality, the coop needs to be connected to the internet.

What are the coop's requirements for the electrical network and its power supply?

The coop is designed to be powered by a standard electrical network with a voltage of 230 V. Its energy consumption is optimized; however, certain functions, such as water heating, may require higher power, which cannot always be reliably provided by a battery source alone.

In the event of a short-term power outage (up to 24 hours), a backup battery can be installed. This battery ensures uninterrupted operation of the coop's essential functions, such as ventilation, lighting, and automated door opening.

If you wish to partially operate the coop using renewable energy, a solar panel can be connected to the system. This panel can charge the backup battery and extend the operating time without being connected to the grid. However, it's important to note that the solar panel's efficiency depends on lighting conditions. For example, during cloudy skies, winter months, or when the panel is dirty or covered in snow, energy production may be insufficient. For this reason, we do not recommend relying on the coop in fully off-grid operation.
